If you are a parent and need to talk to your child's teacher, keep in mind the above statements (especially the last one). Believe what the teacher tells you. They have been around and seen and heard more than you can imagine. It is very rare that a teacher is a wack job. My son had one in the fourth grade. One day I came to his class to let him know where I was going to be working that afternoon (I was a substitute teacher at the time) so he would know why I wasn't home when he got there. She asked me if had come to give him his afternoon beating. ....... that was my jaw hitting the floor. Yeah, she was a wack job. Any way, I digress.
As much as it will hurt for parents to hear this, I must let you know. Sometimes children don't tell their parents the truth. I have car duty in the morning and I have had parents actually ask me if it was true that there was no school for one grade that day, or if there was not school for girls that day. They also call our receptionist with the same type of questions. Schools always send letters home when there is a holiday, or early dismissal. There is never a day when one grade does not have to come, or no girls/boys one day.
So, basically, PARENTS, YOUR CHILDREN ARE NOT THE ANGELS YOU THINK THEY ARE.
