Killer polo practice on Sunday. Nationals is in two weeks, so we spent over half the time working on various offensive and defensive plays. I enjoyed it - I learned a lot more than I do during regular games when I can't keep track of most of what's going on - but some of it was absolutely brutal. Ouch. I had several surprisingly good catches and some decent passes ... I actually think I'm improving!
For yesterday's Free Day of Yoga,
gudenna and I tried out a heated Vinyasa Flow class at
Yoga Vida. Also brutal. I was surprised that the heat didn't really bother me, but, really, I'd never even *seen* some of these poses. It was a far cry from my usual beginner class, in which we sometimes do four or five poses linked together. I felt like crap for at least half the class, but afterwards I felt awesome. I'd like to go again, but maybe after a few more beginner classes.
April did great, even if hadn't been her first-ever yoga class, which it was. I felt kind of bad for recommending such a killer, but she also seemed to like it afterwards, and I don't think it scared her away from yoga forever.
With the holiday and last week's crazy weather, my running schedule has gotten kind of off. We only ran twice last week; we repeated week four's workout one day, then moved on to day one of week five. So after the killer yoga I did week five, day one, again. It was harder than I expected - the class really worked my legs. We're going to do that workout two more times this week, then move on day two of week five next week. Yep, I'm streeeetching the Couch to 5K out ... just a bit.
