I believe that all artists feel this way from time to time... I certainly did when I was still a photographer... I went back and revisited what I had liked about working in the medium in the first place. Before all the technical stuff, what is it you like at your most basic self. This is the thing that nothing can take away from you, the core. If you find joy there, it is so much stronger than your reservations. Once there you can add layers back, style, content or whatever. If you find a spot you actually don't like, bypass it for now, perhaps it is something you don't even need.

At some point you can show what you've done to somebody that you know will give you an objective POV on your work, and then build on what they may say.

In essence it IS believing in yourself, but in such a primal way, that it doesn't feel that way. This is the thing that first made you put a line down, that made you curve it in a certain way, and not another. Once you get past that part, you can build the trust with other people that the thing that you liked about making an image, is something they will like too.

A lot of people like your work, because of the place it takes them, and place that only you can show.

The other half of the equation is that you trust that they know what they are saying when they say they like your work. I don't think anyone else here would bother to comment if they didn't like you and your stuff. I certainly wouldn't buy your work if it wasn't something that I like, that I think looks just the way I would imagine it to look.

It's not wrong to have the occasional crisis of vision, just like anything else in your life.

I hope you can come to feel better about things. ;)
