Washington Square

I know I still want to post on Nick and Norah and soooooo many other things but I just finished this movie for class and it's a lot easier to post on this because it sucked.  The clothes were pretty but I much prefer 18th century or early 19th century fashion, not so much a fan of the Southern Belle look anymore.

I read a review that said the book was better and I'm sure it was because it's not hard to beat this film.  Catherine really was brain dead for most of the movie until she suddenly grew this huge personality, mostly of stubbornness.

Maggie Smith was in it, but I must say I disliked her performance in this very much.  I adore her as an actress, and I suppose she did play the part well...perhaps I just disliked the character too much.

Maybe I shouldn't have read the plot spoilers but I was so used to Austen films and novels that I couldn't make out Morris at all, even though I was suspicious of him.  I probably just didn't want to fall for another Wickham. hahah

Seriously though, it was a waste of two hours.
