The Wonders of Freezing Rain
My reading last night was interrupted by the arrival of Katie and Liam who started to play with my sister and I. Katie with me, Liam with my sister. Katie helped me wrap gifts which was cute and sweet. She wanted to wrap something for her Dad and I found her a few piece of candy which she ended up handing out to everyone.
We opened gifts last night before Jeff got here cause he was running really late. And I mean REALLY late. Sally and Gary really liked the painting from Ian which I'm happy about. It ended up looking REALLY nice in the frame that I got at Michael's for it.
I got a bunch of gift cards, some from Starbucks (YES COFFEE), Target, Borders, Barnes & Nobles, and Sephora. I got a really pretty new mirror too from Sephora. I'm excited to get myself some new makeup, I only have one stick of the bright blue eyeliner I use so often. But I'm definitely more excited to get myself more books. I have a GIANT list of books to get so I want to clean out my bookshelf at home too. The Target card I'll probably use to get some more flannel pants.
We started dinner without Jeff and he came in the middle of it with Rachel, who's really sweet. Dinner was good, dessert was good, and surprisingly the dress I was wearing didn't limit my intake of food. LOL (The bodice is rather tight, as it should be.)
I got chicken pox (a cute little stuffed thing) from Jeff and a bunch of Japanese things from Rachel. Specifically, a talking owl USB, some sushi erasers, and a fire mini fire hydrant.
I stayed downstairs and read next to the fire for a while before I went upstairs to get ready for bed. I changed and got ready in the bathroom, but kept my book in there with me. And let me tell you, that was a mistake, a very LARGE mistake, because I swear to you, the book was staring at me so I picked it up...and two hours later there I was reading in the bathroom. I CANNOT PUT THAT BOOK DOWN. It's soooooooo good. It was so hard for me to put it down.
Eventually I did and I got into bed around 4 which is where the freezing rain comes in...originally I was supposed to wake up at 5:30 to go to Windham to start working there. BUT due to the freezing rain advisory notice thing we didn't leave and I was able to sleep somewhat late. I woke up around 8:30 and began to read again. LOL
I actually just finished packing to leave because my mom and I are about to head for Windham.
