Disclaimer: I don't own the original or re-imagined BSG. This is my imagination running wild, and with a little gender bending thrown in.
with mindless self-insertion - guess who!
Lee Adama is now Leigh Adama. Starbuck is still a woman. Lee and Starbuck are both bi. Gina Inviere is Jack Inviere. The "sunshine boys" of Pegasus are now virulently homophobic as well as horribly misogynist. And Pres. Roslin has cervical cancer, and Lysandra Baltar treats her for it. She's like a cross between Baltar and Cottle, pretty much. and me
Lysandra Baltar is in the middle of her college career on the planet Caprica. She's doing biomedical engineering, one of the few girls who pursues it. On the side, she's part of the women's self-health movement and educates other girls. She's also gotten herself informed about feminism and sexuality but she's a virgin. She's contended with sexism from her male classmates, but they don't make her feel sexy at all. But one fine day in her undergraduate career she meets David Riley of the Kobol Army. He's rough around the edges, but extremely good looking and built, and sexually skilled, and Lysandra is taken in. He shows her the time of her life (and deflowers her) before going back to his home on Canceron. They move on with their lives, and Lysandra dates a few guys and enjoys a few one-night-stands and graduates magna cum laude and becomes a respected doctor by day for the Caprican government, and continues her feminist activism by night. She's also a co-host of a sex ed radio show under the code name of Bandersnatch. The Caprican government wouldn't be thrilled about her night profession. David, now risen to Lieutenant, comes back to Caprica and catches up with Lysandra. David is actually a Cylon and seeks to destroy Caprica. He charms Lysandra into spilling more details about her line of work during their pillow talk (she complains about her misogynist boss often and he offers only half-jokingly to kill that boss). He works Lysandra's boss and gets leads up the chain of command until he gets to the Minister of Defense and sneaks out a prototype of the mother of all bombs.
He's now done with Lysandra and rebuffs her. She's devastated.
