Who: Scout, hopefully Engie and maybe even Enma Ai.
What: Scout is playing detective and is scoping the town, planning a break-out.
Where: the streets of Mayfield
When: Midnight on 02/13
Warnings/Notes: technically this scene is public, if you're character is out on the streets at that time.

( 2 days in Mayfield is 2 too many for Scout. )

Scout stands on the corner of Mitchell Street, trying to act natural... as natural as one can standing around his town at midnight. This place was even creepier in the dark.

He impatiently waited for Engie and Ai. He'd give them some time, but eventually he would set out on his own if needed. He was confident he'd find a way out, but for some reason he felt better with some comrades in tow. Not that he'd ever admit that.

Engie sure did not like this town at night, for the same reasons as Scout. His replacement wrench from Allan was stuck into one of the pockets of his overalls, and he brought along the PDA just for display's sake, seeing as he had figured out that it didn't work. The town seemed to have gotten some sense there, not that Engie had wanted it to, but what could he do at the moment? Only go right up to Scout and try to put their plan into action.

Things were almost too quiet here, really...it was more than a little unnerving.

"Scout. You ready?" Engie said quietly as he drew near the corner where Scout was. This pretty much had to work, because Engie did not want to be here for Valentine's Day, if Christmas was any example.

She wasn't sure why she was here. Maybe it was because she was interested in seeing what would happen. Also she found the man in her house rather amusing. She decided not to teleport in front of them and settled for walking quietly over to the two people standing in the dark.

[Scout brightens when he sees the two approach.] you bet I'm ready. I've been walkin' arrund own today, checkin' things out. I say we check out the opposite end of town from the police station. I wanna stay FAR away from that place. Engie,you got any tools for us? I was thinkin' maybe if you can get some teleporters ready, we might even be able to get others out of this freaksburg once we find the way. By the way do ya think there might be any maps of this place?

[Scout will start to lead them around town! He... is not *exactly* sure where he wants to go, but he certainly *looks* confident. For now, he'll stick to just walking straight down Mitchell St. for now...]

[Once the walk for awhile, it's fairly evident that they've walked in a complete circle. Somehow. The end up on the same corner on Mitchell St.]

W...wait a sec. Guys? Isn't... isn't this where we started? But we didn't turn anywhere! How the frig did that--?![He stops talking quietly and is getting obviously a bit freaked out.]

Wha....but... WHAT THE HELL. That isn't even POSSIBLE! There's...there's GOTTA be a way out of here! People gotta get IN somehow...[Scout attempts to run off in the other direction, forgetting again his super speed has been taken from him. After a few steps he stops and wields his bat in frustration.] AUGH, DAMNIT! I can't even--! [tries to calm himself down before he attracts any attention] I hate this place.

Hmmm. [[Engie's pondering exactly what kind of equation it'd take to make something fold back in on itself. All the particles and different parts to tuck in like that! He's mumbling something that sounds like complicated technical terms and stuff as he tries to possibly figure that part out.

[He paces back and forth for moment, thinking and swinging his bat] Hey! I got it! People are kidnapped and dropped off here, right? Well, someone's gotta come in and do that during' the night. Maybe, if we take a look around we'll see this happenin'! We can catch those bastards AND find a way out! [Scout grins. He's awfully proud of this idea.] We need to start keepin' an eye on these houses. How often do new people get thrown in here?

Or maybe... [points skyward] maybe they come in by helicopter or somethin'! [He walks over to the nearest house and attempts to do a double jump, fails miserably] OW. DAMNIT! Well... [dusts self off]... I'll get a ladder or somethin' I guess....

Yeah, she's getting bored now. Sitting on the side of the road, picking at some rocks.

"They wake up in the beds, replacing a drone who was there the night before." She replied answering his first question.

Scout does have a point there. Ah think maybe Grady or the Milkman has somethin' ta do with it, but that is some dang'rous territory.

Exactly! Wait, the milkman? The MILKMAN is in on this crazy nonsense too? Damn this place is weird. But this, my friend, is an avenue we need ta pursue. Cameras maybe? And I'm really startin' to think that goin' skyward is our way out of this place. Maybe we can get our hands on somethin'... or you can build somethin'! Like... I dunno, crazy jetpacks or somethin'. Or a hot air balloon! Come on, I can help ya! [Scout looks hopeful!]

[He slaps Engie on the shoulder excitedly] That's right, man! See, what would have you done without me showin' up! I'll make sure we get outta here yet! [He turns momentarily to turn look back at the town] I gotta admit, I'm kinda bummed though. I was hopin' ta find out somethin' more tonight. I had no friggin' clue the town could, like, friggin' warp space an' time an' that kinda shit. As soon as I think this place can't get any creepier, it one-ups itself. Jeez. [He frowns.] I guess we'll just have to call it for tonight. I guess since tomorrow is Valentine's Day we should probably hang low, since we have no idea what kinda wicked crazy crap they got planned for this place tomorrow. We'll get ya work after that. Sound good?
