Who? Sophie and Lemony What? Sophie and Lemony perform some experiments in the library Where? The library When? In the afternoon Rating/Warnings G-PG. I can't imagine anything bad would happen.
Lemony had been flipping through one of the books on libraries at the front desk when he heard her speak. He looked up and allowed himself a small smile as he closed the book.
"Ah, hello Mrs. Jenkins. As well as can be expected. I trust nothing too horrid has happend to you since we last spoke."
"No, nothing terrible. Though I have somehow managed to acquire a new husband and two daughters in the time," she said, frowning somewhat. It wasn't that any of them were a bother to have around, but being forced into a family was anything but comforting.
Not having the slightest idea what the dewey decimal system was Sophie nodded again wandered over to the shelves. She eyed several books without title or subject, and she suspected that she would find nothing within them. Silently she wondered just what type of things she would read about.
Then she came across a section of books which caught her eyes. There were several about gardening, and then towards the end of the shelf quite a few books on how to make hats. She smiled as if seeing and old friend again and slid one of the books off of the shelf. After flipping through the pages to see there was actually content within it, she carried to book back to Mr. Snicket. "I seem to have found one."
"It seems so." He paused and glanced to the side where he had a small pile of books. He picked up one of the books on libraries he'd finished with and handed it to her. "Take this one home with you. This way we can make sure it dosn't just have something to do with the library building itself."
She reached out and took the book. "I will. And why don't you take that one there home with you?" she said, indicating to the hat book. "I know quite a bit about making hats, so I don't really need a book on it for the moment."
"I suppose you could say that. My family owned a hat shop back home. For a time I thought it would be the only thing I'd ever do with my life," she explained, remember those days when she sat in the back of the shop, talking to hats.
"I don't mind, but it cane be a bit of a long story. I suppose the best summary is that I was cursed, turned into an 80-year-old woman, and so I had to leave me family so they wouldn't find out."

"They seem to have left the dewey decimel system intact if that's any help to you."

Sophie happily handed the book over, waiting to see the results.

In a few minute he'd checked the book out-the old fashined check out was rather quant-and opened it up and flipped through the pages
"Hmmm...Well, unless I am somehow able to see books on hat making myself.."
He glanced over at her. "It is on hat making, isn't it?"

"You know about making hats already. A hobby?"

[He's rather hoping it doesn't have something to do with a fire. He hates fires.]
