The Chess Challenge

So today I suffered another pedometer wipe incident *grrr*

However, this morning, among other things, I was on the hunt for the cheapest chess set I could find. Long tory so I'll cut to the chase, I was in a mall scenario and checked every possible store I could imagine. I had already walked around Bunnings about 4 times looking for something else and around Safeway before that. Anyway, by the time I got to the Surveying Expedition (I'd probably done a little walking before I looked at the pedometer) I had done over 5000 steps and it was only midday!

But alas when I got home tonight and looked at the pedometer, sure it was gonna be huge due to all the running around on site I did... 94 was all it said :(

But my point, I challenge you all to go out to your local mall, shopping centre, shopping strip or associated place of purchase and look for the cheapest chess set you can find. I don't care if you buy it or not, it's the hunt you're after, checking every store you can think of to see how low the price will go.

I looked in Kmart, Coles, Safeway, Go-Lo, The Warehouse and general pacing (no thanks to Go-Lo and Warehouse being Closed till 11am, only GoLo didn't have a sign up.... Cranky KT, half an hour I waited!) Anyway, walk with purpose... give yourself a deadline... you will work up a sweat, I did! and I racked up over 4000 looking for the damn thing... they're surprisingly hard to find.

In the end I got a magnetic 5 in 1 set for $10.00 and a floor Checkers game for $3.00, neither of which were suitable and will be returned sooner or later.

So steps recorded today: 5094
Distance walked to date: 58.024km

chess, shopping
