Wow. I didn't realize how many acronyms there are in Special Ed. I have to take a class just to figure out what they all mean. Or maybe just read some extra books. I think this thing is plausible. I can do this, The assignments aren't much different and maybe easier than UCSB. Whew. What isn't easier is talking in class which is very noticeable when there are only 15-20 students in class. I didn't ask any questions, but I was a little overwhelmed. Next class I'll come in with some ammo so I can talk.
The class I had today is all about learning the forms and how to fill them out according to procedures and regulations. So much jargon I have to learn, why is it that every subject has these words that no one else in the world uses? Fucking useless!
I have a english for language learners class and a special ed assessment class and I'm truely excited about them. This is a fucking awesome experience, although I feel like maybe I should have a regular teaching credential first, but whatever. Life isn't perfect. I love my professor, who happens to be my adviser.
I realize now that I need to find something else to do with my time, which is fine. I have lots of things to do, I'm thinking of volunteering in a class in palo alto and one in san francisco to mix it up. I'm now thinking that I might get a job sooner than later. I'm going to wait a couple of more weeks before I decide but I think I might move soon to San Francisco.
