NaBloPoMo 2016 - Day Two

It was all wet and rainy today.  Feh.

My Prime Minister had a better Halloween costume than your Prime Minister:

Of course, The Economist has ruined it all by saying nce things about us.  The Canadian in me assumes that leads only to collapse of one sort or another.

I made a proper Chrstmas fruit cake today. (By proper I mean 'good,' not those pale, pasty horrible things you see in the grocery stores.  Yuck.) Now I just have to feed it brandy...and feed it more brandy... and more brandy...and more...

Today's prompt:

Nov. 2: When was the last time you did something brave? What happened?

Geez.  It might have been earlier in the summer when I helped my neighbour get away from a dog that was attacking her (well, the dog was attacking the cat she was holding; the neghbour herself was just blood-covered collatoral damage).  The bravest thing about the whole incident was the fact that the neighbour is a cop and I heard her screaming for help and I just ran to help her.  Afterwards, I realized that might not have been a brilliant idea, considering I didn't know what was going on at the time and, as I said, she's a cop, and firemans might realistically have been involved.  But all's well that ends well.  (Only, not really, because the cat died, the dog had to be put down, and the neighbour ended up with a serious concussion.)

Well, that was cheery.

Yesterday, I missed one of the one-word prompts . It was COPYCAT. Which put me in mind of one of my favourite copy-cat recipes, Red Lobster CopyCat Biscuits. Don't sit there being all judgy - they are delicious.

Todays one word prompt is: Bludgeon.

Isn't bludgeon a great word? I mean, it's got aspects of blood, dungeon, blunt (as in '...force trauma') , cudgel, and pigeon.  It's a serious word, in as much as no one every playfully bludgeons any one or thing. Moreover, it can be a noun or a verb - or both, as in, "Dude, he bludgeoned that other dude with a bludgeon, dude!  Whoa!"  And best of all, it's of "uncertain origin."  Oooh, who doesn't love a mystery?

Dear US Election:

Come on, be done already!

And how was your day?
