What's the best purchase you ever made?
Good lord. I don't know. I can give you some contenders, though.
Pyrex 8 cup measure. I paid $11 for it. I hemmed and hawed for ages before I took the plunge. It's stupidly useful - I can measure, mix, and bake with it. it's dishwasher safe. $11. That works out to less than a penny a day over the course of 17 years.

We paid $9.99 for this clock radio when we got our first place. That was 32 years ago. You do the math - it's still chugging along.
