A Day on street...
Today as part of our business exercise at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, we were asked to go to KoreGaon Park and earn money from the various places in the area. The best part of this exercise was to do this without spending any money from our pocket. As a person who has always been dependent on for every little task. This came as a shock me. But then there are no excuses to be given. If you have to do so some thing. You have to. For the sake of simplicity we were made in a teams of 2; me & miss Malavika.
Now as we got out of our institute, we took a lift in a taxi (6 of us in a car) to khadki cannt. There after crossing the railway line, a friendly taxi lorry person gave us a lift to Taj, even though it was out of his way. Eventually after reaching there, we started going in the various shops, & resurents to find a job. But it being a sunday that too a afternoon, it seemed to be a very difficult task. Eventually after over 2 hours of struggle (10-30 to 12:30) we were able to get a job at Silk Route's lounge, kore gaon's premier resturent. Even there we were not assured any monetary return.
There we did various tasks to earn money, starting from folding napkins, washing glasses, making drinks (under supervision of course) and serving drinks. Even though the manager had said he will think about paying us later, he gave us a free lunch. After this, as we were about to move off, owner of the place, being so happy with our job gave us 300 bucks ( 150 each). The task got completed. We were happy. Then started out long journey back.
We being more confident in getting lifts we were able to get back in just 3 lifts.
All in all an exciting day.
