When I want to kill a very small amount of time, for example while waiting for a build or download to finish, Angband is a poor choice. So I've taken to playing the Mod3 solitaire card game that comes with KDE's Patience game. Back when I played Dungeons and Dragons, the Druid used to be one of my favourite character types and I ran several of them.

It only just now occurred to me that I should have run a female Druid and named her Nancy.

The Ranger, upon coming face to face with my 24th-level mage, cast a Monster Summoning spell and got 6 firehounds, 5 white wolves, a tiger and an uruk.

Finding himself in a similar situation the Priest cast a Monster Summoning spell and got 6 giant fruit flies.

I leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine which battle lasted longer.

Here's a game that you can play at home, on the road, while camping...pretty much anywhere. No special equipment is required and the rules are simple:

1. Count from 1 to 1,000 speaking the numbers aloud.
2. If you pause between numbers for longer than it takes to draw a breath, restart from 1.
