The War On Terror Finally Produces Results

Aug 07, 2008 01:34

Today a military tribunal achieved its first conviction in connection with the September 11 attacks. Salim Hamdan, Osama bin Laden's chauffeur, has been convicted of aiding terrorism because he drove bin Laden around while authorities were looking for him.1

No, I'm not joking.

No doubt this conviction will be a crippling blow to the shadowy network of terrorist drivers and cabbies around the world.

Next up: bin Laden's green grocery will be tried on the count of aiding terrorism because he once offered the terrorist mastermind a good deal on a package of figs which were past their best-before date.

1 When it became obvious that they weren't going to be able to make more serious charges stick, the government of the United States of America, home of the free, defender of liberty and justice, hurriedly passed new laws specifically tailored to give them something of which they could convict Mr. Hamdan.
