making a long story short:
when bodyline had their 24th design competition, I uploaded a few designs. when I didn't win I uploaded them to my
deviantart account and forgot about them. but sometime around December 2011 someone commented to let me know they created one of my designs.
I emailed them and was told the dress will be sent to me (full story, here:
http://bodyline-love.livejournal.com/189873.html#cutid1 )
not too long after that (I was still waiting for them to upload it to the international site, mind you) another dress of my designs was published!
this time when I mailed them I didn't receive an answer at all. lucky me - I remembered the lovely
yoshiko_sakurai worked for them and offered help before. I contacted her and she helped my so much (seriously, this girl is just so sweet!). it took some time, but both dresses were sent to me.
yesterday, when I came back home from a convention, I was happy to find this:
inside were:
as I said, it was nighttime, but I couldn't help myself, so here's a badly photographed review! first up, the pink dress,
L448:
(yeah, it's on the floor. sue me :P)I picked the pink version. I really have no explanation for this except that I'm more of a pink person.
details shot:
the buttons are heart shaped.
the lace is really nice.
details are sewed on, except for the wings which are embroidered.
I really love the details.
the detachable bow is pretty cute.
and my least favorite part - the wings. sadly, these are not well made...
luckily - these are detachable.
worn picture. I'm happy with this dress! I was quite dreading it, but it's really cute! (the wierd shape is because my petti was folded XD)
back. it opens up with a zipper on the side, and the waist ties aren't detachable.
next up, the black dress,
P194.
again, floor, I know. this came as a separate set - shirt (I picked it in white) and a strapless dress. the big bow on the front is not detachable, which I think we all agree is a good idea.
under the corset lacing in the front there's a white fabric. I'm not sure how I feel about it.
the lace is really nice, though. and the pearls on the bow are cute.
the actual lacing is in the back. there's also a zipper on the side.
worn photo. I really love that dress.
the blouse that came with it. the sleeves are slightly puffy and overall it's just really cute.
details shot. the buttons are really cute! I didn't realise they were heart shaped from the photo.
worn photo. it's a little see-through but that makes sense considering it was ment to be worn under a dress.
my biggest disappointment - the tie! it's just a regular grosgrain ribbon with a cheap looking gold pin cabochon. and to top it all - it's a faulty! the cabochon is only half-black. all can be fixed or changed, but it's pretty bad.
on the blouse. it's not adjustable so it's kinda big for me. don't think I'll use it.
so that's the final look. it's pretty cute and I'm really happy with is!
overall I'm pretty happy with the final products, I'm just unhappy about the way bodyline handles communication and rewarding the competition participants.
