I bought a bunch of freeze-dried meals from REI to bring with me camping. I cooked one for dinner today to try out both the food and the cooking process.

Boiling Saltwater via Chemical Reaction The food was pretty tasty. The noodles were soft, the sauce was flavorful and the chicken was tender. Only downside is the crazy amount of sodium (but that seems to be the same for all their Freeze-Dried foods).
I'll give it a "I'd eat that again" and a "tiny packages fit in backpack easy"
