So, one of the fun parts of my job is trying to figure out what people mean when they say or document things. Like this one wonderful excel spreadsheet that has a list of clients and resources. Except nothing is lined up straight, so I make a few guesses about who gets what and where. I write up what I assumed, my results, and my questions and send them off for verification. The magical machine of email takes them and they get routed through a black box and come back as a pdf.
Hmm. I don't remember asking for a pdf. It looks like someone took a copy of the excel spreadsheet, printed it out, made notes with a pen on it, faxed it, turned it into a pdf, and sent it to me. No questions were answered. Score.
I wonder if we started with the same 24 page excel spreadsheet.
I wonder what would happen if I were to take a picture of someone looking confused, convert that to a pdf, and sent that as a reply.
