Two things!
One, I went to my parent's place in Corpus Cristi, TX for thanksgiving. They had very tasty home-cooked meals there. Driving down, I went on I-35 to I-37 at San Antonio, but that's a little out of the way, so I came back on Texas Highways. Most of the drive was on 2-lane undivided roads with a 70 (65 night) limit. I found that unusual. I drove back at night, and parts of the road were through undeveloped areas with no traffic on them. It felt very surreal to be in an area with no lights aside from my car's, and I couldn't see anything except the road ahead of me.
Two, I just got back from a
Video Jockey (VJ) competition at the
local movie/restaurant/arts place. The winning team "super continent" divided the screen up into 4 sections, and played music loops in each section. Some of the other people's videos seemed more like a high tech version of the visualizations from winamp with some video thrown in. The competition inspired me to start thinking about how I would use video as an instrument. I was thinking multiple bluescreen sources somehow tied to music and played against a background. Somehow, the music has to fit together and with the images.
