Ever notice how before
Red meant stop and green meant go?
Not so simple anymore
Walk signs changed and furthermore
Orange is now newest red.
Green removed. White’s now in stead.
Don’t jump to the wrong conclusion
Reason’s to avoid confusion.
Time and time again, you see
Drivers jumped at walker’s green
Caused all kinds of ill events
From cars hitting rear ends
To pedestrians in stride.
Lucky lived, unlucky died.
To prevent such game of chance
Walking lights are now enhanced
Always cross at crossing site
Always look both left and right
Always watch the traffic light
Stop at orange, cross at white
