Strange thing, this.

Going to be a little brief with this one.

I know a lot of people who never miss a chance to declare (often loudly) how Winter is their most hated season and they wish it would just go straight to Hell and bite a big chunk out of the Devil's ass cheek. For a while I probably would have agreed, but in recent years I figured it was more nuanced than that. I hate ~driving~ in the winter, there's no doubt of that, nor is there any need to go into detail. ~Driving~ in Winter sucks a fattie.

On the other hand though, especially in this coldest and most snow-heavy Winter ~I~ can clearly recall, I find a lot of beauty. The stark desolation of, say, a wide-open field strewn with snow into which the wind has sculpted patterns looks like the kind of thing you're only supposed to see in National Geographic photos of the Antarctic, and yet at times like this I can see it less than a mile from my keyboard here. I really like it.

So oddly enough, while it's fair to say this is the roughest Winter (at least since I've been driving, let's say), it seems to be the one that so far has bothered me the least.

Just thought I'd share.
