Ok, so I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I hate incompetence.
If I schedule a carpet cleaning on Friday afternoon, I expect that you be there Friday afternoon and I will have everything ready for you to do your job in a timely, efficient, and easy manner.
I do not, however, expect that you show up on Thursday morning because it is convenient for your route, barge into my apartment with the maintenance key and then look dumbfounded when I stumble out of my bedroom in pajamas and ask you to get the hell out and come back when you're scheduled. (No I didn't use such colorful language.)
So today's the day, I wake up reasonably early considering my shenanigans last night kept me up until 5am. (BTW, How To Train Your Dragon, best movie I've seen since Princess and the Frog and not everyone in the world is out to get you, help your fellow man when you see an opportunity.) I got myself cleaned and dressed, straightened up the ENTIRE apartment, my room, living room and both of my roommate's rooms knowing that the cleaner refused to move furniture for liability reasons, I moved it out of the way for him. 2pm rolls by so I go up to the main office and talk to one of our supervisors and she informs me that he's already been here today, is now on the other end of town and cannot make it back today. So now I have to reschedule.
This is the fourth time the incompetence of the subcontractors to my apartment complex have inconvenienced my life. The first they prepared a 2 bedroom instead of the 3 bedroom we signed a lease for, so we had to wait an extra day as they tried to tidy up a new apartment as quickly as they could, meaning all of their work was shoddy at best. Then during that cleaning they blew out our air conditioning and couldn't get it working for 2 weeks. Then their gas man skipped out on us much like the carpet guy and when he did come, he lost paperwork that got me a rather nasty call from their corporate office, I responded in kind and they worked it out amongst themselves apparently because I never heard another word about it. And now this...
Whatever happened to customer service and taking pride in the work you do?
