shortening my entries...
well, since i need to start shortening these entries, i'll update more often. this one will still be lengthy though, hopefully not as much.
Well, I'll start with the Karate tournament in ocean city i went to this weekend. It was my first time competing as a black belt. The turnout of competition wasn't as much as i had hoped, but wasn't half bad either. Self defense, one of my partners screwed up and the whole thing came out kinda clumsy compared to what i wanted. Oh well, most ppl liked it and it got 2nd place (out of 3, lol). Weapons, there was only one other person in my division. Not only that, but I had watched this guy's weapons routine last year and had admired it, which made it kinda scary to go against. I lost to him, but only by 2/10 of a point, so I was proud, lol. Empty hand forms were next. I shined, not perfect, but it was flawless. I lost to some other guy by only 1/10 of a point! but, he was doing crazy kicks i couldn't, so i can't complain. besides, i did my best, and my best was damn good, lol. but, before the fighting started after forms, i noticed the guy who beat my empty hand form flirting with a whole posse of girls, one of which was damn good looking. well, i had two reactions:
1. i thought "that lucky dawg"
2. i hope they stick around to watch me fight him
well, 2/3 of his posse was standing by the door when the fight started, the last bit in seats. when the center judge told us to assume our fighting position, this guy kiaied (shout of power) as he assumed his stance. when the fight started, he hopped two feet to his right and let out another kiai. he was trying to psyche me out, but he made me laugh. anyway, i beat him 5 to 3. he got mad and threw his helmet on the ground and his posse ditched him, lol.
