Back in the LJs
Yep, after around a month of restricted access, I'm back! Well, I've been back for a little over a week, so yeah. Guess I'll give a little update.
I wrote three chapters of my novelization the past month (which I'm quite happy about). I'm close to finishing up the sixth chapter, but I'm taking a short break from writing. Besides, I've been wanting to catch up on some fics here and there.
Spring break was a week and a half ago, and it went pretty well; I went with my political club to a legislative session at the capitol. Met some state senators and representatives, and while I disagree with a lot of their views (despite FL being a swing state, a majority of those elected are Republicans), they were decent folks. Met the governor, too, and took a few pictures with him. I was tempted to ask him if he was ready to lose the gubernatorial race in 2014 but decided against it. xD
And while I was in Tallahassee, I contacted the state's official Democratic Party, as I'm interested in working for the campaign of the person running against the current governor (don't know who it'll be, but I'm assuming it's the previous governor that switched parties). And given that the party knew of my volunteering for Obama's reelection campaign, they've expressed some interest. So if I don't get an actual paying job for the campaign, I'll definitely volunteer.
That's what I think I might do after school. Working for political campaigns: senators, governors, etc. For now, though, I have one or two more semesters at the local college and then I'll be transferring to a state university and major in poli sci. Who knows? Maybe I'll run for a political office years down the road. (And if none of this stuff happens and I somehow never find work, the Navy sounds okay, I guess.)
Aside from all that, I've been watching an LP of Fire Emblem Awakening and ohmaigawd it looks awesome. I don't have a 3ds, but my friend owns one and a copy of Awakening; he said he'll let me play through it sometime. ^^;
So, that's all I've been up to. I'll post another entry when the third chapter of my novelization is uploaded on FF. Waiting on my pal darkeclipse45 to take a look at it, but I'm in no rush and told him to take his time.
