Yesterday I went to Dominicks. The convayor belt for the one register that was opened had a sudden break down situation so everyone had to re-line-up at a new register. People were very vocal about getting their same spots back. Then there was the guy in front of me was like, "Hey we could either have a riot over this situation or we could make the best of it." He continued then to tell the women around him that Champagne is actually just a region in france and yada yada, we all know the story. So this guy was very talkative and he smelled really nice. Once we was at the check out counter I realized that there was a dollar on the floor. I picked it up and w/o really thinking I reached in front of him to donate it in those donation boxes they have. Then I was like- "woa, sorry, you are still checking out. I should have waited til you had finished." And he was like "No, no no. By all means. Put it in the box!" I told him it wasnt actually my dollar, that I had found it on the floor. And he was like "Wow. Just because you did that, I'm gonna put in 5!" It was kinda fun :)

Then I went out side and saw a bike with a paper valentine heart in its wheel. It said something on the valentine like "keep biking because you love it and it makes you happy" Or something along those lines.

Then by McDough there was a car with a sign in the passenger seat window reading "Hey asshole. Thanks for your vandalism. I mean, who needs a side view mirror anyways!" The car didn't have a side view mirror.

And then, a few weeks ago I was riding the EL home from work. I sat down and the guy behind me tried to saw something to me about the weather. I half nodded but pretended not to hear him. Then when we finally got to fullerton I got off the El and so did he. He was following me saying things like "Hey gurl, where do you think the homeless people sleep? You should come with me and I'll show you. Come to Ashland with me.... You speak English?" As I tried to ignore him and pray that he wouldnt follow me home. Luckily, he really walked towards Ashland and I went the other way. Then I hear a guy behind me say "you know that guy?" And I said no. And then this guy, who reminded me of Michele's Bryan, walked with me and we talked about eating tacos and it was really nice, but I was kinda on-guard still because he was a dude and I had just interacted with the creepy guy.

In sum- I like when I find situations where people actually interact (not in a creepy invasive way) in like a "hey, you're a person, I'm a person... Let's pretend we live in a small town and people are nice to each other" kinda way
