Best Monday in awhile
After tennis, Kyu mentioned his friend was playing at the East Side Show Room. We cleaned up and went down there. We were early and peckish so we hit Taquiera Chapala. The salsa could have been hotter. The chips were good. The tacos were fair (pastor, huevos+chorizo). Kyu's burrito looked good.
The showroom was pretty cool. It had a VERY strong continental vibe, with art on the walls, and a tasty-looking (but pricey) menu. Kyu's friend Sarah's group had a weird sort of guitar+flute+chamber quartet thing going on, and they played along with...Charlie Chaplin videos? Pretty weird.
I tried a Kronenbourg pilsner, and it's the first pils that I haven't really hated. In fact I liked it a lot, and will be looking for it at grocery stores. Also something called Decadent IPA, whose sweetness could not quite be contained by the hops, but was nonetheless a tasty, quality drink.
Really was more of a wine+cigarette venue, but whatever.
Oh, and I smashed my right hand in Kyu's car door. Probably gonna bruise...
