Senator Obama (Democrat of Illinois) has announced his intentions to run for President in 2008. He'll announce the start of his campaign on February 10.
This is the guy I want to win. Fingers crossed.
Can a black man from Chicago be elected President of the United States? I hope so. This country elected a stubborn oil-wealthy wannabe cowboy, who led us into a war that's cost us over half a trillion dollars and three thousand american soldiers.
President Bush insists on sending another 20,000 troops because we need to win, but I ask you, what's victory even look like now? Is it possible to create a stable Iraq, and if it is, would it be worth the cost?
There was a political cartoon recently that said Bush's plan to send more troops is too little too late, while the three thousand soldiers are too many too soon. That sounded about right.
So I bring this question, and I base it on the premise that we went into Iraq to prevent Saddamn Huessein from giving WMD's to terrorist nations like Al Queda who wouldn't have hesitated to use them in America. Will sending more troops to Iraq prevent terrorists from getting WMD's?
