Aly: Dad, is Joey in your heart?
Me (assuming that's what Grandma told her): Yep.  He's in your heart, too.  Isn't he?
Aly: Yep.  (Touches her chest) He's just floatin' around in there.

Rose's dog, Joey, died yesterday afternoon.  We think he had cancer.  He was 12 years old.  He was a good dog.

Rose is pretty sad.  The kids are pretty sad.  So are the rest of us.
