it's finally here you guys - the tutorial for the dark/chocolaty coloring i've been using lately =)




Step 1: Pick an image! I picked this one of the lovely rpattz:


Step 2: Open a levels layer (layer/new adjustment layer/levels) and apply these settings:
RBG
19, 1.08, 225


Step 3: Open a curves layer (layer/new adjustment layer/curves) and apply these settings:
RBG
Point 1 - input: 80, output: 47
Point 2 - input: 202, output: 184


Step 4: Open a selective color layer (layer/new adjustment layer/selective color) and apply these settings:
Whites
Black: -100


Step 5: Open a selective color layer (layer/new adjustment layer/selective color) and apply these settings:
Reds
Cyan: 47
Magenta: 49
Yellow: 49
Yellows
Cyan: 45
Magenta: 47
Yellow: 45
Neutrals
Cyan: 13
Magenta: -14
Yellow: -14


Step 6: Open a color balance layer (layer/new adjustment layer/color balance) and apply these settings:
Midtones
Cyan: 32
Magenta: -25
Yellow: -30


Step 7: Open a levels layer (layer/new adjustment layer/levels) and apply these settings:
RBG
19 - 1.23 - 225


Step 8: Open a color fill layer (layer/new adjustment layer/color fill), add a dark brown color (110101) and set it to exclusion.


Step 9: Open a color fill layer (layer/new adjustment layer/color fill), add a dark brown/yellowish color (0d0c01) and set it to exclusion.


Step 10: Open a levels layer (layer/new adjustment layer/levels) and apply these settings:
RBG
19, 1.00, 225


Step 11 (optional): merge all layers and duplicate it. Sharpen it and set that layer to 50%.


and you're done! but please not that you have to adjust these setting to make it fit your orignial image =)
