Disclaimer: Just own the plot TT
As I'm currently writing lots of Ohmiya and Sakumoto, I wanted to write a Sakuraiba to change a bit. This one shot is based on 夜空への手紙 Aiba's last solo ^^

April 1997,

"Don't cry Ma-chan, I'll come back soon!" A 16 years old Sho exclaimed.
"But I'll miss Sho-chan so much." Aiba sobbed, tears rolling down his cheeks like a waterfall.
"Me too but I don't have the choice, my parents want me to study in England."
"Promise me we will write to each other every week!" Aiba cried.
"Of course. Wherever I'll go, I'll never forget you. Promise me you'll realize your dream to become a singer." Sho smiled, fighting the tears that were about to fall and hugged his best friend tightly.
"Come back quickly!"
"I promise." Sho cupped Aiba's face and brought their lips in a kiss. The younger's eyes widened but soon, Aiba closed his eyes and opened his mouth to welcome Sho's tongue. "I'll be back..." Sho whispered between their lips before taking his suitcase and leaving his crying friend.
"Come back quickly, Sho-chan! I'll wait for you!" Masaki screamed.

Casually laughing together
On an evening that was the same as always
It was a perfect scene that'd never happen again
I feel that from the bottom of my heart now

Aiba opened his eyes, panting. Looking at his clock, the singer stood up to take a quick shower before the arrival of his manager.

"Why did I dream about him after all this time?" Aiba mumbled under the water.

It had been 8 years since Sho's last letter. Eight years since his friend had died in this car's crash. Eight years of pain, eight years of tears. When Aiba had received his letter of the week, he had opened it with happiness, impatient to have some news from his best friend/boyfriend. But his heart had stopped at the second he had read these words.
It was eight years ago but Aiba felt as if it was yesterday. Their last meeting, Sho's last smile, their only kiss, Sho's sweet words and mostly, Sho's last letter.

"I have to forget, I have to smile." Aiba shook his head, trying to erase the pain in his heart. Climbing in his manager's car, Aiba stared at the landscape through the window, remembering every detail of Sho's face before his start.
"Keita-san wants a new composition."His manager and best friend finally broke the awkward silence in the car.
"I haven't any inspiration since a long time and he knows it." Aiba muttered.
"When will you stop to live through this pain, Masaki, it was eight years ago, you have to move on."
"You can't understand, Jun. You have Satoshi, you don't understand what is it to lose your reason to live." Aiba replied.
"I know but I also know Sho wouldn't like to see you destroying yourself. He loved you."
"I KNOW!!" Aiba yelled, making his friend jump. "I know... It's why I can't move on because he loved me and because fate didn't let us the chance to live what we shared!" Aiba sobbed.
"Masaki..."
"I'm trying, Jun. I swear I'm trying." Aiba whispered.
"I know. Why don't you write what you feel, maybe it would help you to move on..."
"I don't know..."
"Try." Jun patted his shoulder with a sad smile.

Aiba took his guitar and sat on the sofa of his living room. Even if he had realized his dream to become a singer and was very famous in Japan, he hadn't had any inspiration since Sho's death. It was as if someone had ripped his heart, as if he was dead from inside. None inspiration, no will to compose.

"Why did you leave me?"Aiba whispered to the picture in his hand. "Why didn't you keep your promise to come back? I was waiting for you every day, every second but you never came back. Please, come back to me, Sho-chan." A tear rolled down Aiba's cheek to fall on his guitar. "It's too hard without you."

On a monorail that seemed like it was upside down, we sat shoulder to shoulder, being rocked back and forth
If I close my eyes, I wonder if I can go back to those days...

Looking up at the night sky, searching for the twinkle of the stars
Until the day we meet again, I'll keep looking up at them
I never said goodbye even once

Aiba sat on the soft grass and raised his face toward the dark night. Stars were shining brightly, the sign of a good weather for tomorrow. Closing his eyes, the singer remembered the first night Sho showed him the sky.

"Mouuu Sho-chan, when will we stop climbing, I'm exhausted!" Aiba whined again.
"Here we are, Ma-chan." Sho spread a blanket on the ground and sat, showing at his friend to do the same.
"What are we doing here?"
"I wanted to show you the stars. It's a perfect night, there aren't any clouds."
"The stars?" Aiba looked up and gasped. "Amazing!!! It's beautiful!! I've never looked at them!"
"Humans always look for gold, precious stones or jewels but they forget that nature offers us so much precious things that we miss. Like rainbows, landscapes or shining stars." Sho smiled softly.
"It's more beautiful than gold." Aiba chuckled.
"Do you know there is a tale about stars?"
"Really?"
"Hun. There is a story saying that stars are a person we loved. Someone we have lost. This person's soul changes in a star to guide the people they left."
"So, Ojii-chan is in the sky?"
"Yes. He is one of these stars. He stayed in another form from the sky to guide you and protect you."
"It's a beautiful story and I'm sure it's true." Aiba grinned, laying his head on Sho's shoulder who took his hand.
"Yes. If one day I had to die, I would become your star, Masaki. To protect you and guide you."
"Don't say sad and scaring things like that, you won't leave me! Never!" Aiba exclaimed, tears shining in his eyes.
"Never." Sho smiled and hugged his friend tightly.

"Liar. You're a liar, Sho-chan!!" Aiba cried to the dark sky. The singer buried his face in his hands, tears leaving his eyes but the pain wasn't erasing. Why couldn't it leave with his tears? "I wonder whose Sho-chan's star is?" Aiba whispered while looking at the sky. "A shining one. Sho-chan's star would be the most beautiful and shining star." Aiba smiled sadly through his tears. After hours, the singer stood up and joined his apartment. His empty apartment full of Sho's memories.

Aiba kneeled down and looked at the box in front of him. Taking it, the singer opened it and stared at the amount of letters. Sho's letters. Two years of letters. Two years of love through words and paper. Opening one of them with shaking hands, Aiba started to cry.

Hi Masaki!

It's been a while, ne? One week but it seems longer to me. I'm in my new house and I've met my new classmates. They are kind but looks at me with curiosity as if they had never seen a Japanese before xD
I'm already missing you. I thought a lot about you in the plane. About our kiss. My mind is a mess, I don't know what to think. In fact, I understand my feelings perfectly but I'm scared of yours... You know, Masaki, I've always loved you. More than a friend. I miss you so much, please, answer me.

Sho

Hey my love,

Your answer made me so happy. Knowing you feel the same than me warms my heart. I miss you so much, baby. Everything is fine at school. I have some friends and my english is better now but I'm not happy. It's raining a lot in England but even with a blue sky, everything looks dark around me because there isn't your beautiful smile. I wish I could leave and come back to you now! You know, I wasn't kidding when I told you you were my sunshine. My cute rainbow making me smile even if I'm sad. I don't need any landscapes or rainbows because you are my rainbow, my sun. Who will comfort me when I feel bad now? Who will find the good words to make me smile? I miss you so much, Ma-chan but we have to be strong! Five years aren't that much in a life, ne?
No. It's false. Five years without you is like an eternity.
I love you my Ma-chan, take care of yourself,

Sho.

My love,

It's been one year since I left but I feel as if it was tenyears ago. I missed you so bad T.T
You told me in your last letter that you had your first recording! I'm so proud of you, baby! You'll realize your dream to make people happy with your songs! I passed my first year easily, I work hard and I'm the best of the school. In fact, I only work hard for you. To see you as quickly as possible, to become a great lawyer and take care of you. When I'll come back, I'll buy us a house and we will live together not to be separated again. You'll have a dog if you want and even a cat. But not a panda, I told you it was impossible even if it's cute.

I miss you so much, take care of yourself, baby,
I love you more than anything,

Sho.

24/12/2001,

Otanjoubi omedetou my love!!!

I hope my letter arrived for your birthday! 19 years old, you are growing up so quickly :P
I heard your single and I love it!!!! I'm so proud of you, Ma-chan! I have a surprise for you and I'll give it to you in two weeks. Yes, two weeks!!! I told my parents that I would go to Tokyo for my vacations to see you and even if they forbade me, I told them to go to hell because I would fight against everything to have you in my arms! I'm so impatient to hug you and kiss you. I want to hold you in my arms, to make love to you as if there was no tomorrow. I miss you so bad! Have you received good gifts for your birthday? I hope mine will make you happy! I have to go, my friend is organizing a party and I promised to go even if without you, I know I won't truly like it. Please, my love, be patient, be courageous because I'll come back for you and only you. My heart is aching so much not to have you in my arms but soon, we will see each other again. How will you react? Will you throw yourself in my arms? Will you kiss me as if there was no tomorrow? Because it's what I'll do when I'll see you at the airport. And then, I'll make love to you. I'll show you how much I love you. The two halves of our soul will be one again. Just two weeks left, baby. I miss you so much my love.

Xoxo my baby
I love you more than anything,

Your Sho <3

25/01/2002,

Dear mister Aiba Masaki,

We have the regret to inform you that Sakurai Sho, 19 years old, died in a car's crash one month ago, the 24/12/2001

All our condolences
Mr Smith.

Aiba screamed in pain, throwing his bottle of beer against the wall. Grabbing his head with both hands, the singer cried loudly, his body shaking with his sobs. On his birthday!!! Sho chose to die on his birthday!!!! God took him away for his birthday!! Why?! Why for God's sake?!!!

The days we spent together And that awkward kindness
It's creating this day and who I am now
No matter how many thousands of light years we're apart, so that you'll hear this voice
I'll sent off a light And I'll show you an even brighter brilliance
That gentle gaze that didn't say much I can't forget it...

"Sho-chan..." Aiba broke down. "Why do I have to live without you? It's too hard, I can't continue anymore." The singer sobbed and sitting in front of his piano, started to play a melody. A dark and sad melody. Something reflecting his heart since Sho's death.

“Rather than the road you walk on, it's who you walk with that is important”
“Happiness is born between people who have compassion for each other”

Seeing off the night sky, I greeted tomorrow Until the day we meet again, it'll keep shining
No matter how lonely of a night it is, you're not alone

Aiba climbed on the stage with a sad face. He didn't want to be here. In fact, he didn't even want to sing again. He just wanted to die and find Sho again. But Jun told him he had to move on. But how could you move on when you were dead inside? When nothing was shining around you again. When everything was insipid. When your world had lost its colors. The fans were here, screaming his name, waving their hands to get his attention. But Aiba wasn't seeing her.

"Minna-san, today, after almost one year, Aiba Masaki is coming back with a new composition, please, listen to Yozora he no tegami!" The caster exclaimed. Aiba bowed slightly and keeping his eyes on his fans without even seeing them, started to sing the melody he composed in his apartment with his piano.

Memories that don't fade, words that don't disappear, promises I couldn't keep
Holding on to all of it, I'm running to the day I'll see you again

Through all of the days that I'd been running after you, I'd overlooked it
All along, I'd had the feeling that I could meet you soon
Embarrassed, I couldn't say it But I wanted to hold you close and scream it out
“Thank you for all the love and kindness you gave me”

Tears were now, rolling down Aiba's cheeks like a waterfall as he was singing. The room was quiet, tears shining in the fan's eyes as their idol was screaming her pain and singing with despair with shaking hands. Aiba closed his eyes, trying to remember a happy memory not to break down in front of his fans and the cameras. He had to do this. For him. For Sho.

Aiba took the paper with a smile and started to write. Sho was gone for some weeks and he wanted to reassure him.

Dear Sho-chan,

I also thought a lot about our kiss. It's shining in mind like the stars you showed me one day. I keep climbing the little hill to look at them and feel as if you were hugging and kissing me endlessly. I love you too. Since forever. Since the day you save me from this dog that wanted to attack me. We were only 4 years old but I understood Sho-chan would be the only one I would love in my whole life. Why life is trying to separate us when we are starting to live? But don't worry, I'm strong and I'll wait for you to come back. If you keep smiling, something good will happen to you. That's why I smile everyday. For you. Even if you can't see me, I want to send you this warmth you said there was in my smiles. Baka Sho. This warmth is only because of you. Because you make me happy. Because my smiles are only for you. I wish I could kiss you too and let you make love to me. It would be wonderful to be one with the only love of my life. I miss you so much my Sho-chan! Be strong for us too. Work hard and come back to me. I'll wait with patience as long as you need. I miss you.

I love you more,
Your Masaki forever <3

The days we spent together And that awkward kindness
It's creating this precious moment
No matter how many thousands of light years we're apart, so that you won't be lonely
I'll send off a light One that will continue to shine forever

That faint warmth you left me before you died, I won't forget it

The music stopped, Aiba wiping his tears away but it was useless as new were leaving his eyes. The fans clapped their hands loudly but sadness was visible on their crying faces.

"Minna-san, thank you for coming. I'm sorry because for one year, I left you. In fact, I wrote this song two days ago with my piano. This song is talking about death but also happy memories. This song is for the person I loved more than anything since I'm 4 years old. This person died eight years ago in a car's accident in England and for my birthday." Aiba's voice died, the singer bit his lip to restrain his sobs. "If you weren't all here, I think I would have given up since a long time. In fact, life lost its colors for me this day. My family told me to move on, to let my past go but when you have loved someone as deeply as I did, letting go your past is something you can't do. Because it would mean accepting this death and letting go this person. Unfortunally, I'm not strong enough to let her go. This song will be my last song." Aiba said calmly, gasps resounding in the room. "I'm happy for having the chance of becoming a singer but mostly, for having you. Because you helped me to wake up and sing everyday. But I'm just a human and am tired of this pain in my heart. I wanted to find a place where I'll maybe be able to forget this sadness and to fill this hole in my heart. That's why I'm quitting. Thank you for all the love you gave me. You can't imagine how happy I felt because of your smiles and encouragements. Thank you for everything." Aiba bowed deeply and left the stage under the shocked faces of his fans.

"What the fuck!!!" Jun yelled when Aiba entered his changing room.
"I'm tired, Jun. I just want to forget everything reminding me, Sho."
"But..."
"I won't be able to wake up tomorrow if I continue this way. I'm sorry for the trouble I'm causing you but..."
"Because you really think I care about that?! I'm dead worried for you Masaki! You... I'm afraid because you are just the shadow of yourself. I don't want to lose you! You were Sho's treasure and are my best friend! I love you, Masaki, I don't want to lose you!"
"I..." Aiba sobbed, letting Jun wrap him in his arms.
"Please, Masaki, stand up. Don't break down, don't collapse. Fight, please. Tell me what to do to give you the strength to smile and live!" Jun implored.
"Give me Sho-chan back." Aiba sobbed. "Give me my reason to live back."
"Masaki..."
"I need to be alone. Please." Aiba kissed his friend's cheek before leaving the room.

This night, Aiba drank to forget. He drank and swallowed the little pills in his hands, darkness taking him away. Soon, everything would be over and he wouldn't need to fight anymore.

****

A pain crossed Aiba's head, his eyes opening slowly.

"Masaki!!!" Aiba's eyes widened, seeing Sho holding his hand, tears rolling down his cheeks.
"So, Heaven is like that? I should have done it earlier. I've missed you Sho-chan." Aiba grinned, tears shining in his eyes.
"Ma-chan, you..."
"He woke up?" Someone exclaimed next to the door.
"Sensei!"
"Let me check his vitals, two weeks in coma are bad." The doctor approached Aiba who was shaking in fear, not understanding what was happening. "He is shocked. But he will be okay. I let you two, call me if there is a problem." The doctor bowed and left.
"What the meaning of that is?! Who are you?! Where am I?!" Aiba started to panic, trying to get up.
"Calm down, Ma-chan!" Aiba froze at the nickname. Only Sho was allowed to call him like that.
"What's happening?" Aiba sobbed, gripping his hair with despair.
"Jun found you unconscious in your apartment. You tried to...you swallowed pills and stayed two weeks in coma. I thought I had lost you again...." Sho exclaimed with a shaking voice.
"Who are you?"
"Baby, it's me, I..."
"You are dead. Since 8 years." Aiba cut his lover off who shook his head.
"I never died. But I thought you were when I received this letter from your parents."
"What..."
"They were telling me that you died in an accident."
"No... I...I received a letter from yours saying you died in a car's accident!" Aiba sobbed.
"Jun told me. These two letters were from my parents. They wanted us to stop seeing each other."
"But... It's impossible! I'm dead or crazy! It's not possible!"
"You're not Masaki."
"Why are you here, then?! And why did you never come back?! I waited for you!"
"When I learned for your death, I... I dived in a deep depression. I worked harder than ever not to become crazy and as Japan would remind me you, I decided to live in England. I just came back two weeks ago and saw you. On the walls of the subway, in the shops and mostly, in this Music station. I understood I had been fooled. I searched everywhere a way to contact you and finally found Jun. But he told me you made a suicide attempt and was in coma. Why, Ma-chan, why did you do that?!"
"I... It's too much... I... Leave me alone, please."
"Masaki..."
"I need to be alone." Sho sighed and stood up.
"I still love you." The lawyer said sadly.

Aiba buried his face in his knees, crying. This couldn't be true. It was a trick or a joke. Sho died eight years ago in a car's accident. The person who was pretending to be him was a usurper or Aiba was really dead. A soft knock on his door made him jump and raise his crying face.

"Masaki!!!" Jun ran toward him and hugged him as if there was no tomorrow.
"Jun... I can't breathe..." Aiba struggled.
"How did you dare trying to kill yourself?!"
"Sorry... Ne, Jun?"
"Hun?"
"Before you arrived, I made a weird dream." Aiba smiled sadly.
"Eh?"
"Sho was here and alive. He was with me and told me he still loved me."
"But it's not a dream." Jun smiled.
"Jun, it's not possible, this story is crazy!"
"But true. I've made some researches after he left to see you. He is a brilliant lawyer in England."
"But how his parents could lie to us? He thought I was dead!"
"I know, Masaki. I... When you are in different countries, it's easier to hide things."
"But... He is alive!" Aiba sobbed.
"I thought you would be happy." Jun frowned.
"I don't know what to think. I... My mind keeps telling me that all this is a lie and I'm maybe crazy."
"You're not. I know it's incredible but maybe fate has decided to give you two another chance. Don't think too much, Masaki. You love him and he loves you, go back to him and start a new life together. After all the pain you went through, you deserve it." Jun stroked the wet cheek softly.
"I need to sleep, I'm exhausted." Aiba whispered.
"Okay. I'll come tomorrow." Jun kissed his friend's forehead before leaving the bedroom, finding Sho on the ground, tears rolling down his cheeks. "He is lost." Jun said.
"I... I thought he would react differently." Sho whispered.
"Sho, he thinks you are dead for eight years. Let him some time to realize that you are here. He thinks he is crazy."
"My parents stole us everything." Sho growled.
"Yes but now, you found each other again. You kept your promise to come back, Sho."
"He has changed so much. He looks so thin, so fragile."
"It's very hard for him since eight years. He fought a lot but pain is eating him. I can't believe he took these pills."
"I can't lose him once again. Not after finding him after all this time."
"You won't. He is lost but he still loves you, he will let you come back to him." Jun patted Sho's shoulder. "Now, come on, you'll sleep at my place as you just arrived in Tokyo today."
"Still in love?"
"Yep. Still with Toshi and crazy about him." Jun chuckled.

Aiba left the hospital the day after as he vitals were perfectly fine. He didn't want to see anyone but found Sho in front of his apartment.

"Sho?"
"I knew you would leave before we can see you so, I came here." Sho rubbed his sleepy eyes.
"I... Come in..." Aiba proposed with a hesitating voice.
"No, thank you. I just wanted to give you that." Sho held him out an envelope."
"What is it?"
"I know you're lost and everything seems crazy but read that before taking a decision." Sho smiled and left quickly. Aiba frowned but entered his apartment and sat on the sofa to open the envelop.

My love,

I know everything seems crazy and unbelievable and I feel the same but I don't want to lose you again. This letter will be the last one. The one I should have been able to write and send four years ago before coming back to Tokyo after my studies. Eight years ago, my parents ordered me not to see you again when I was about to come back for vacations but I ignored them. The 23th December, as I was going to leave to be in Japan for your birthday, I received a letter. No need to tell you what it was as you received the same for your birthday. This day, my world collapsed. I couldn't believe it. It was as if someone was ripping a part of me, as if fate was splitting my heart. I cried, screamed and didn't leave my bedroom during six months. I was becoming crazy. I just wanted to die to find you on the other side. I stopped my studies and fell in a deep depression. Nothing was shining around me anymore as my Sun was dead. As I would never see your beautiful smile again. I couldn't stand the fact you had left me while you promised you would wait for me. It was so unfair! It's my roommate who saved me and woke me up. Because of him, I slowly recovered even if inside, I was dead. I passed my exams and became a great lawyer for you. To keep my promise. But I decided to stay in England because I was afraid of diving in a second depression if I came back where we spent the most beautiful years of our lives. One week ago, I accepted a new case and my customer was a japanese businessman. I thought coming back just for work would be okay as it wouldn't be too long. But when I arrived and took the train, I saw a poster of you on one of the wall. It hurt me a lot to see your face after all this time where I had tried to forget you. Then, I saw the photo of you and the title of your last album. It's here that I started to understand you were still alive. I called all my contacts and tried to find Jun or Satoshi because I knew you would still be friends. But I saw you before in this Music station. You were still so beautiful despite the pain shining on your face and this song... It was so beautiful yet so painful. Your voice, your tears... I cried seeing and hearing you. The things you said at the end gave me a little hope. The hope that you still loved me and would let me come back in your life. Because despite the years, you are still the only one in my heart. You are my reason to live. I know maybe I'll be selfish to ask you to love me again but I need you, Masaki. I need you to breath, I need you to smile, I need you to wake up everyday and to feel complete. I just need you to be myself and live. You're the only one able to make me happy. I don't want to lose you again, my love. Please, give me a chance.

I love you more than anything in this world
Your Sho.

Crying, Aiba released the letter in his hands and taking his shoes, opened his door roughly, running in the street.

"Sho!!" Aiba called, getting some weird looks from the passer-by. Taking his phone, the singer called his best friend. "Jun, does Sho is with you?!"
"No, why?" But the singer hung up, still running. Looking everywhere, Aiba called his ex with despair and soon, understood. Changing of direction, the singer ran as fast as possible and climbed the little hill. Out of breath, Aiba stopped, seeing Sho looking at the dark sky.

"I've never stopped to find your star." Sho jumped and turned his head to see Aiba panting heavily.
"Ma-chan..."
"It was the only thing that was keeping me alive. I was trying every night to find your star that was meant to guide and protect me."
"I..."
"I've read your letter." Aiba cut Sho off.
"And?"
"How can you ask me to love you again?!"
"I'm sorry, I..."
"Do you really think I've stopped, even for a second, to love you?"
"Masaki, I..."
"I'm sorry for my behavior but I was too shocked." Aiba whispered. "Now, will you keep your promise?"
"Eh?"
"You said in your last letter that when you would find me again, you would kiss me and make love to me. I was hoping for the same." Aiba smiled while approaching the lawyer.
"Are you sure?"
"I've never been as sure as now except when I told you that you were my reason to live in my letters."
"I've missed you so much, Ma-chan." Sho whispered, a tear rolling down his cheek. The lawyer put his hand on Aiba's cheek who closed his eyes in happiness.
"Me too. So, where does my kiss is?" Sho laughed and wrapping his hand around Aiba's nape, brought their lips in a deep kiss. Both kissed with passion or rather despair, as if they were afraid of losing each other again, their bodies pressed together, their hands stroking the skin of the other to be sure all this was real. "Make love to me..." Aiba managed to whisper between their lips.
"Come on." Sho took his hand and both started to run like two teenagers, laughing and crying at the same time. Soon, they entered Aiba's apartment. Soon, both were naked, kissing with passion. Soon, Sho was moving inside Aiba slowly, trying to memorize all the wonderful things they were feeling as they were discovering each other's bodies.
"Sho..." Aiba moaned softly, his hands lost in the lawyer's hair.
"I love you so much, Ma-chan."
"I love you more." Aiba said against his lover's mouth. "Faster..." With just a word, Sho started to move faster, never stopping to kiss his boyfriend and whispering sweet words in his ear. Warmth and screams of pleasure invaded the bedroom, love wrapping these two bodies forming one and moving in a perfect sync as if they were meant to be like that.
"Don't ever leave me again." Sho moaned and in a last thrust, brought them over the edge, stars blurring their view and screams leaving their throats.

"It was amazing." Aiba whispered as Sho was wrapping him in his arms.
"Wonderful."
"I feel as if I was breathing again. Now, I have a reason not to stop singing."
"Me too. I don't want to go through this pain again. Never." Sho kissed Aiba's temple before the singer stood up to take a box. "What is it?"
"All your letters."
"I kept yours too."
"We'll put it with mine, like that, they won't be separated anymore."
"And don't forget the most important one."
"Eh?" Sho chuckled and held out the letter Aiba read earlier. "This is the real last letter."
"Our last letter." Aiba grinned, putting the paper on top of the others, letting his lover wrap him in his arms.
"But not our last words." Sho whispered before catching Aiba's lips.
