Black bird singing in the dead of (the kitchen)

Jun 01, 2007 16:35

Woke up this morning feeling so shitty, but then adrenaline kicked my ass when I walked into the kitchen (expecting to see Colleen since Liz was sleeping and I heard rustling) only to discover a black bird that had gotten into the house somehow flying around the room. NO IDEA how it got in as all the windows were closed and the doors were mostly shut. I woke Liz up being like "ahhhh crow in our kitchen" and freaked out, then she freaked out. Then I remembered I'm not scared of birds and got a towel and threw it over the bird so we could let it out the window. Turns out it wasn't a crow (something smaller, my boss told me it was something that sounds like geckle), but what a morning. We almost gained a pet...or a new housemate.

Work was pretty chill today, I'm about to leave in 20 minutes. I have a sweet job. Hopefully heading to the Holyoke Mall to get some summer clothes after this. Tomorrow we're going to Liz's to see her sister graduate in Westborough. Yay.

I really want the Elbow Room to be open. I thought they re-opened on the 1st, but apparently it's the 4th. I want a coconut soy latte r'l bad. Northampton is pretty sweet during the summer. I really like being able to walk to work AND town. Now if only we had the internet, Haymarket free wireless is my new favorite thing.

At least we're all moved in. Now everyone needs to come visit me. Kgo. I promise you a good time filled with canoeing, kayaking, sweet sweet Northampton and a swimmin' hole with a rope swing. We could even BBQ.
