Dental appointment and a few more things

Dental appointment this morning, and since the few sidewalks on Main Street are still largely buried under snow, I decided to take the bus there, which got me there early, but it gave me a chance to read from the Magnificat magazine and, since I tapped into the WiFi from the Thai restaurant next door, to download all my books back onto the Kindle. I feel more at home now that I've got my little library back in my pocket.

Mostly clean bill of health, but there's a funny spot on one tooth that will need a sealant on it soon-ish: I've got an appointment set up for May; it's not something that has to be done immediately, and at first, they wanted to scheduled it for April, which would be a bit twiddly because of Easter.

Walked up to the Wal-Greens a few doors down, picked up a few rollerball pens and a few odds for Easter, then caught the bus into Wilmington. Took care of bank business at the Lowell Five next to the Market Basket there, then nipped across the street to have my lunch at the Starbucks, also to download some of my audiobooks (the Horror Stories of Robert E. Howard, and the first Book of Cthulhu anthology).

Later in the afternoon, the folks went to Wal-Mart to buy new bedsheets: I tagged along for the ride, also because we were going to look at bathroom sinks and vanities, to find something to replace the one in the upstairs bathroom; it'll be in my half of the house, so it stood to reason that I should have a say in what we eventually pick out.

And, I have a new writing assignment, as it were: there's an anthology looking for Lovecraftian romance stories, 'putting the love back in Lovecraft', as the editors call it, and I happen to have had a romance inspired by The Dunwich Horror come into my head while writing the Dunwich rewrite: Wilbur Whateley and a local girl in a forbidden romance, though knowing what we know, the forbidding might not be such a bad thing.

fandom: hp lovecraft, health concerns, shopping, writing
