It’s amazing how watching mechanics in a video, and then being in a fight, are dramatically different. I knew what to do, but at times I felt like a total spaz when I ran away too early or ran in the opposite way I should have. BUT, for my first time in there, I’m gonna say I did ‘okay’. LOL I also had some of the wrong talents because they were more useful for leveling, but I swapped them (of course after the raid when I realized it). So we’ll see how I do next time. They might not raid tonight seeing as a lot of the guild members are actually going to go watch Star Wars. Bunch of big ole nerds in this game LOL. And yes, I know that’s a pot calling the kettle black since I write mostly about World of Warcraft in here, but still! Ha :D
It’s our Holiday party today. Meh. I hate being forced to be freakin’ social. Drives me batshit crazy… but it’s ONE day. Just ONE day. I need to chill the eff out. Last night was the second raid night in the guild and we owned the first boss we attempted by the second try. But Argus? Omg. He was so painful. We got him down to 2FUCKING% …. That’s really good considering we were down mad deeps.
So apparently my issue with kinda sucking (it was situational)? I have zero tier gear and 1 of my legendary’s blows. A couple of the guys were surprised I did as well as I even did considering my crap gear so that’s a plus and now I don’t feel as bad for being crap on the meters. Though honestly, I don’t do crap… I am just not in the top 3 like I like being. There are others up there but they ALL have their tier gear.
So all in all, I had fun. The mechanics in the last boss aren’t hard once you finally get them, they’re just a PAIN IN THE ASS to dodge. Especially the final phase when there are these swirls on the ground that hit hard, if you get 2 or 3, you’re eff’d. So a lot were dying to that. I managed to be one of the few last ones standing each time, so it’s not that I don’t understand mechanics, which is actually a good thing. Once you die you CAN respawn, but the tree of life only has about 6 charges, so if more than 6 people die and no one is getting the orbs in the ‘afterlife’ to refresh it, then no more rezz’s.
Since they were missing a few of their high DPS peeps on top of it (because they were off watching Star Wars), we just couldn’t get him down in that last phase, but it kills me that we got SO close. So this weekend/week I plan to run LFR and hope to get some tier gear.
