Long Weekend

May 22, 2018 21:26

Had these last two days off, which made for a very nice long weekend. Of course, it also means time flew and I'm back to work tomorrow, which I do not want. Meh. Thankfully Memorial Day is next Monday so I have another three-day weekend to look forward to.

I just spent most of today importing some entries from where I've been writing off and on (mostly off sadly)... and I did each one individually, making sure the dates match, and a friend still on here mentioned they're all showing up as May 23rd. So much for all that time I spent, huh? Ha! I could have been playing World of Warcraft or SIMS. Gah.

We (the guild and I) FINALLY got Ahead of the Curve achievement when we beat Argus, on Thursday. We've had so many IRL issues with members that it's been put off for about two months now, but finally everyone was on and we got the lockouts all straightened out and we FINALLY kicked that bitches ass. It felt so damn good. I was on a high the whole night once we got the achievement + mount for beating him before the next expansion.

It's a pretty bird, but not the prettiest it in the game. :P Plus I won't ride it because people often pay for carries, and dont actually EARN the bird so to me, it's just a nice additional mount toward my total mount count.

So now we'll be working on alt runs. Decided to bring my hunter to those, but only because she's the one with the high enough ilvl to actually go. But, she's actually been fun, so I dunno. I am contemplating swapping to either Hunter or Monk from Paladin, but I do love my Paladin, so I have no idea. Guess I will see what the new expansion brings for each class.

On Sunday we had Diane's baby shower. I was up earlyyyyy (for me), to go help decorate the club. It looked pretty great once we were done but it was SUCH a long shower. I can tell she hasn't been very social these last few months because she spent way too much time going around chatting with everyone and a shower that was supposed to start at 1pm ended up really going around 2pm.

Then took forever for people to eat, for dessert, gifts...etc. We only ended up leaving there a little after six, which is WAY too long for a baby shower and I was just exhausted. Ugh. BUT, it was all lovely. The cake was so adorable!!

So yeah, it was a truly lovely day even if I was beyond exhausted.

I spent these last two days playing a lot of world of warcraft, getting much needed sleep and writing/reading. I finished book 49 of the year, which puts me one closer to the 60 goal. I figure I'll have to update that goal soon enough, but I won't until I actually hit 60 because I know myself all to well. I might just randomly stop reading all together for months. Ha.

Today was great for relaxing because it rained all day and still is. I think I might go watch a little television and let myself go to sleep early for once... really dont wanna go to work tomorrow UGH.

As the anniversary of my dad's passing approaches, I find him more and more on my mind. These last two days he was ever present. I really wish I would dream with him more, but as time passes, I have less and less of them. It saddens me, since that is the only place now that I can talk to him and hear his voice and see his smiles (if he's smiles, sometimes hes not). I just miss him so damn much, and time only lessens the ache, but it will never get rid of it.
