Busy time the last week or so. My brother & sister-in-law stayed with us for a few days last week - they're over from Australia - it was brilliant to spend time with them, and Mum really enjoyed having them here. Finally finished my 30 pages of script, along with a commentary and synopsis. Got that submitted Monday afternoon. Great relief all round. Reading for PhD proposal now underway.

There's baking on telly this week! Slightly more inept baking as it's celeb baking rather than brilliant amateurs, but still, fun.

So in love with Sherlock. Lestrade's name is Greg. Sherlock didn't know. Also: friends.

Pointless has stopped showing repeats and is back to new episodes. Richard Osman is currently running the World Cup of Chocolate on Twitter. Why won't he marry me?

My entry is in the ballot for the Great North Run. Managed to do a good run this morning. I'll be fit, whether or not I get to participate!

Interesting linkage:

- Mysterious paper sculptures by an anonymous artist left in various literary venues around Edinburgh. Wonderful.
- Steven Moffat interview talking about Sherlock - they clearly want to do more.
- Blake's 7: The early years is being broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra. Keep meaning to listen, keep forgetting!
- Predictions about the 21st century made in 1900 that have come true.
- Guardian books podcast on the state of science fiction (need to download this one). Includes a contribution from Lauren Beukes.

More tea, I think.
