Sigh! While cracking my mind yesterday over where I misplaced the giraffe puppet, it just dawn on me that this is the third puppet we've lost!
Late last year, I embroidered a set of finger puppets - Goldilocks and the Three Bears for Ethan. He insisted on bringing it along for Speech Therapy. He even insisted on holding all four of them with his tiny hands. By the time we reached the therapist's office, Baby Bear is lost!
Then, earlier this year, I hand stitched another finger puppet - a lion! Yes. I hand stitched every part - the body, the mane, the eyes, nose and mouth. Again, he insisted on bringing it out with him. I allowed him to cos' I thought that it's a good travel toy, that it'd keep him occupied. This time round, the lion didn't even make it to the taxi. By the time we were in the taxi, it was lost. I had actually even sewed a tiny bag to go with the tiny lion. Who would have guessed that it would fall out? After sending Ethan to therapy and school, I rushed back home and tracked back the path the we took that morning. Well, it was no use!
Finally, I made a hand puppet - the giraffe which is even more depressing. It didn't even get a chance to get out of the house and it's lost. I guess we just have no yuan fen with puppets. With each new puppet, they lasted with us an even shorter time!
By now, you must be wondering why I'm so into puppets! Cos' I think the puppets make Ethan talks. Sometimes, it'll stimulates his thoughts and he'll make the puppets talk to one another. Somehow, the puppets don't want to be with Ethan. Either they run away or they go into hiding!
