I had a very bad day yesterday. I went to leave work work and my car started making very bad sounds when I tried to leave the parking space. I got it back into the spot and got out to look at it. I didn't have a flat, which is what I first thought, but it was leaning down on the front passenger tire. Something in the undercarriage gave way. The thing is, it was fine driving into work. I didn't have any problems, and the roads were horrible. AAA would not tow outside of the Springfield area because of the weather, so the car had to stay at work. I called my car insurance company to see if I could use the car rental option on my insurance policy. I could as long as it was an accident. I figured it had to be caused by something during my morning commute, so I said it was mother nature. They accepted that and initiated the car rental. They tried to get me something close by, but when I went to the Enterprise by work I couldn't rent a car as I didn't have my major credit card, and since I am an out of state driver and my car was not going to be fixed in MA they would not take my debit card. They tried to move the reservation to an Enterprise in Windsor Locks, but the Windsor Locks Enterprise can't bill the insurance company directly, so they moved the reservation to an Enterprise in Windsor, but they were already closed. A very nice co-worker drove me all around so I that I could do all of this. I got dropped off at home, still without phone or internet, and now a car. My nerves were already shot when I found that my home office had flooded due to the all the rain and crap through the day. If the office flooded then the basement had to be flooded. I got fans on the rugs in the office and went down to the basement. It did have some water, but it wasn't that bad. I got another fan on that. I ended up having a vodka and V8 fusion drink with my dinner. It was very good and definitely calmed my nerves. I decided to call out from work, as I wouldn't be getting a car until 9 am and I figured that I could try to get an earlier time with the phone company. They moved it up from 2-6 to 10-2. I was able to stop at the grocery store to pick up some food and was home before 10. I caught up on some TV shows and started to clean. I had lunch and still no repairman. Started reading a book, still no repairman. I called the phone company from my cell phone at 2:30. They still hadn't assigned my repair. They told me that they would try to get someone out soon. Someone showed up at 4:30. He figured it out pretty quick, as the company replaced something on the pole and didn't set it up properly. He fixed and it and I had a working phone and dsl connection. At least something good happened. Now I just need to get the car towed and fixed without breaking the bank.
