So then, Tony's off soon

Tim at bloggerheads was working on this one for a bit, thought I'd already posted it but must've forgotten. His breakdown of the dramatis personae is rather good as well. The basic theme we could've been anything that we wanted to be pretty much does sum up this Govt; so many lost opportunities, broken promises, half hearted efforts and poorly thought ( Read more... )

Nice journal, and I like the joke.

How do you do the sweet grey quote boxes?

It's a standard CSS tweak, quite easy once you know how. Go to Journal Style and put the following three bits of code into the custom CSS:
q {
background:#777;
-moz-border-radius: 5px;
-webkit-border-radius: 5px;
font-style: italic;
}
blockquote {
background:#777;
padding:10px;
-moz-border-radius: 10px;
-webkit-border-radius: 10px;
font-style: italic;
}
blockquote blockquote {
background:#4a525a;
padding:10px;
-moz-border-radius: 10px;
-webkit-border-radius: 10px;
font-style: italic;
}You'll want to change the colours, and always make sure you put quotes in either [q] or [blockquote] tags. The curved corners only show in Firefox and Safari, they're CSS3 tricks and IE is only barely CSS2 compliant :-( The third set of code is to remove the grey if there's a quote inside a quote, brings it back to my normal default.

I keep meaning to write up a how to, but then I get distracted by pretty things like more Doctor Who...
