yesterday, i went to an academy of television arts and sciences event entitled "next tv." it was all about high def and all that jazz. i volunteered mostly, but i was able to attend some of the panels including "how to get your project greenlit" and "secrets of casting." then there was a drawing for 2 dvd players, 2 sony high def cameras (retail $5,000 each), 2 coffee mugs, 5 screenwriting suites ($500 of screenwriting software), some
books, and some budgeting and scheduling software (valued at $800 each).
then last night, i went to an aaron spelling themed, black jack party. you're supposed to dress up as a character from an aaron spelling tv show. i'm going as a mix between steve and david from 90210. anyways, the party was a bust with too many old people. so we went to dimples.
dimples is a karaoke bar that is part owned by dennis haskins. you may remember him as mr. belding from saved by the bell. was he there? you bet he was.
i also saw michale rosenbaum, a.k.a. lex luthor on smallville. i didn't talk to either one, but they both walked within two feet of me.
i finished watching jurassic park today (i started it on halloween night). it is certainly my number one favorite movie. as i watched it, it occured to me that i know it by heart. as in, when i watch it, i can recite the lines verbatim along with the movie. that's nuts.
just for fun, these are other halloween costumes i thought of in place of target employee:::
cedric diggory - a mix of a yellow and black shirt (too pressed for time, maybe next year)
shaggy - brown pants, green shirt, scooby stuffed animal (only i couldn't find one)
donald duck - sailor shirt and hat. no pants. whatsoever.
guy in a black cloak - too expensive
who wants to go see aimee mann at club largo on the 10th?
it's intimate and accoustic.
i think i will read a lot tonight.
