I agree with the general comments. Sequel is expected on the same date in 2010. (I'm an investor in MVL so I keep track of their announcements).

But... Tony Stark is supposed to be a teetotaller. Kind of a stretch for Downey.

Actually Stark is a recovering alcoholic. He starts off fine, develops a drinking problem and then recovers.

Things to know:
Apparently Tony Stark makes a cameo in the new Hulk movie (rumored).
There will be an Iron Man sequel.
There will be a Captain America prequel for Avengers.
There will be an Avengers team movie.

There will be a lot of opportunities for Iron Man to make appearances.

I think having this movie be a success and the fact that he co-stars in a Ben Stiller comedy due out later this summer that is predicted to do well also is likely to be a good motivator for him ... I hope. ;)
