Hey Sam, I've been trying to think of something to write to you ever since I saw this post. I think these kinds of speculations tend to make people nervous and we don't know what to say or if it's even our place to say anything. But all worrying about that kind of thing aside, I'm going to try to say something.
I don't think having these kinds of thoughts is normal. I'm not saying that to make you feel bad, I'm just saying that I know when you're in the middle of depression or whatever, you don't really remember what it's like to feel happy/normal and you don't remember that everyone doesn't feel this way. You can feel differently and what's more you DESERVE to feel differently. Please seek some help and soon! I know that taking initiate for things during depression is also difficult, but there are so many different types of counselors and therapists out there that I'm sure there has to be one who can help you. I think you said before that you've seen someone and it didn't really do anything. I hope that you can find someone who doesn't just hand out pills (although they may be necessary, especially right now, and you may have to try a few), but also someone who will give you some mental and behavioral "tricks" to help shake your brain out of its well-worn depressive pathways.
You can email me if you want, pixyvero at yahoo dot com. There are also hotlines you can call if you just want someone to talk to 24/7: 1-800-784-2433 or 1-800-273-8255
Thanks for actually posting something about one of these posts. I usually feel better after I write this kind of stuff; it sort of gets it out of my head and away from me.
So far, you are the only one who has had the courage to actually write anything. I guess I didn't realize that it was that hard for someone to read this and then reply to it, but I should have. Something as simple as "How are you doing?" or "I'm here for you!" would mean a lot to me when I write these, so thanks for saying what you did! Knowing that they have people who care can really help people with depression.
