Livejournal and Facebook and January 2010

Hah. Two days ago ojkolego and I were talking about, that it would be great, to get Livejournal and other social networks together. Like Facebook for example. Just realized, that on one hand I miss Livejournal, but on the other hand, not so many of my friends are using it anymore really activ. Maybe this can change. Livejournal is still a great platform

I let my public stuff from here be syndicated automatically into FB, which feels to me a bit like merging the best of both worlds.
It would of course be even more awesome, if lists of friends could be synchronized, thus making it possible to streamline the publication of stuff between here and there and keeping the privacy feats from here.
But I don't think this will happen anytime soon.
I noticed recently that some guys took the LJ codebase and adopted it for some new publishing service for artists, weeding out bad code and bringing in new stuff. Since it's all open source one might expect that LiveJournal Inc. eventually picks up some of the gems and incorporates them. This made me think that those old LJ-Perl scripts maybe aren't all that bad… ;)

I kind of also have LJ nostalgia and miss it the way it used to be few years ago before MySpace, facebook, twitter era. But I'm strongly against combining LJ with MS, FB, T, etc. LJ would totally lost it's old fashioned charm. I personally use them all for different purposes and even though I don't write my personal diary over here I still want to preserve it the way it is, as I said, oldfashioned. And if someone left LF, oh well, their lost ;)

As for the need of new rubber outfits, yes, I need it and I want it so bad, and I would really buy almost everything, but right now that's not possible. I'm on a huge spending diet as I need to save money to finish my flat in few months. So basicly no new expensive stuff for w while for me:(
