My faraway friend (written on the 25th of April)

It amazes me how a person can be this close while being faraway.

We call each other about twice a month and talk. It amazes me how deeply he reads books, how slowly, sincerely and attentively he read "Hyperion", how intensely he reads my livejournal. 'So, Cane', he said yesterday when I called him, we said hello and exchanged some quick and short news. And made this gesture putting the chin on the crossed fingers - meaning 'I'm listening to you very attentively'.

I feel that I can tell the most important things to him. Yesterday I told about me having started giving yoga classes, about the feedback session, about the "Calvary" movie that Cane had taken me to (and F.F. explained things that I was missing but he understands perfectly well as he lives in Ireland), about Dan's unbelievable decision-making, about Monday's revised and eventually successful class, about Thursday's class - the first yoga class ever I was asked to give. And he was asking about everyone, sharing his ideas and when I told that the next week I was planning a class to show to the person who organizes Ladoga festival, he pressed his hands/palms together and it was the most sincere 'good luck' gesture I had ever seen.

'I'd love to meet him', said Dan today. 'And I'd absolutely love to be there if he and Cane are to meet'.
Yeah. Absolutely.

Update 27. For yesterday's birthday party Cane asked for poems on friendship. I asked F.F. if I could read two Seamus Heaney's poems he had shown me sometime ago because those were the only poems I strongly associated with him. He sent two Frost's poems on friendship.
Yesterday he watched "Calvary" and wrote a passionate review.

I love you, guys.

genuine connection
