“Well, Doctor...no, I probably shouldn’t call you ‘Doctor’,” Ash examined her reflection in the belt buckle. “Doctors don’t beg for a spanking like a horny little whore. Doctors don’t get off on shit like this. And doctors definitely don’t scream like you’re about to.”
---------------------------
Shepard looked up from the cards in front of him. “Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?” Kaidan was exhausted, felt a migraine coming on, and was sick of relieving his CO of whatever spare credits he had left.
“Like someone screaming...loudly,” Shepard looked up. “Came from the ventilation shafts?”
“Joker’s probably watching a horror movie,” Kaidan yawned. “Or a porno. Or both.”
-------------------------------
“Forty nine,” Ashley counted out as she drew back for another swing. There was a sharp crack as the belt connected, but Liara was too worn out to scream. All she could do was moan yet again. “Fifty.”
Liara felt like her ass was on fire. All traces of the confident student who had graduated from the University of Serris had vanished. The budding archaeologist had long gone. The only asari currently aboard the Normandy was a crying, humiliated, silly little slut.
“You got what you asked for,” Ashley pushed Liara off her knee. “Get your clothes, and get the fuck out of my sight.”
Liara started to get to her feet, Ash shoved her back down...again. “Oh no you don’t. You like being on the floor so much, you can stay there.”
Wheeling back toward her locker, Ashley struggled to get herself back under control. She didn’t turn, look around, or try anything else until the whir of the elevator door signalled the end of Liara’s sniffles. Picking up a rifle she tried to start cleaning it, but it was no good. She couldn’t concentrate on it, all she could think about was Liara. And even then, it hurt her to think about what she had done to her. It felt like she had committed a monstrous crime. She wanted to caress that beautiful face, not hit it. Wanted to hold her in her arms, tell her that she didn’t need to be afraid of anyone, least of all Ash.
“FUCK!” She slammed the rifle back down. Yesterday morning she felt nothing but animosity for the alien...but now she had vented all her pent up rage, and felt only longing. She needed a distraction, a long cold shower ought to do the trick nicely. Then she’d hit her bunk and get some sleep, wake up, and feel better.
----------------
Ash entered the female shower block, surprised to hear one of the showers already going. Not only that, but the absence of steam in the air indicated that the water was cold. Particularly unusual if someone just got off shift and wanted to build up a little heat before hitting the sleeper pods.
“Hey!” She tapped on the door. “You keep running it that cold and you’re gonna freeze to death.”
There was no reply. Ash debated just leaving the crewmember to their icy fate, but idle curiosity drew her on. She pushed the door open.
“Well...shit.” She succinctly observed as she saw Liara, curled up in a ball, sitting on the shower floor. The asari was staring blankly at the wall, not even responding to Ashley’s presence. The Marine took a few steps foward, till she was standing just outside of the spray. “Doctor, are you...okay?”
There was no answer. Ash took a deeper breath. “Look, Doc, I know I just fucked up badly down there. If you want to put me on report...”
“Why?” Liara looked up at her, bitterness in her eyes. “Why should I put you on report for something that I started?”
Ash was shocked...and ashamed. “Liara...you didn’t do anything wrong. That was me being...well...I don’t know what I was doing.”
“You were doing exactly what my subconscious intended you to do.” Liara shook her head. “Chief, you don’t know anything about the way asari growth cycles work. Once we hit our hundred year mark, we instinctively latch on to a non-familial authority figure. It’s an evolutionary instinct, meant to pull us away from our families and set us on the path to matronhood.”

“That just means I took advantage...”
