Those in the WNY Region who are being told to "bend over" by the state in being overtaxed (awaiting our budget results) with a Gov who wants to tax us on everything to a "fat tax" on pop (you betcha, brilliant man) to taxes on spa services (this includes your basic hair cut to a massage, which would in effect, alter customr impact on local ( Read more... )

Oh my gosh! Jackie -- I haven't spoken to you in so long! It must have been about 4 years ago now -- so much has happened since then. I was looking back at my old LJ account under my previous username and seeing how I have changed over the years. I am now 25, married to a wonderful guy, and settled in Florida. I am currently pursuing a degree as an X-Ray Tech and will graduate in April 2010. Occupational Therapy didn't exactly work out for me...and I'm glad I found that out 2 months into the program as opposed to 2 years! That would have been a complete waste of time. March 15th of this year marked the 4th anniversary of my dad's death. I still miss him every second of every day and not a day goes by without thinking of him. When I think about how much my mother and I have endured in the past 4 years, I often wonder how we did it. We just took it one step and one day at a time. My mother still lives in Texas with our dog Milo, who we got from my cousin to sort of fill the void after my dad died. My cousin got a new puppy ( ... )
