Dear Diary, today I was pompous and my sister was crazy.
So, I'm rewatching Firefly. In the six years since I first got into this series, I've never once been tempted to write fic for it. But this time around - probably because of all the Supernatural shippery - I started looking for subtext.
Between Jayne and Simon.
And DEAR GOD.
Jayne's attitude toward Simon is like an eight-year-old boy with a crush he doesn't know what to do with - let's just throw rocks! That'll help! And he makes snide comments about Simon's "pretty" features. Things in this series are making me laugh that ought not make me laugh. I kind of want to write a fic about Jayne having a dumb little crush and being emotionally eight in dealing with it. If I ever have the time to go back and string together the events of the series with this in a way that makes sense, maybe I will.
But in the meantime... BRB, LOLLING FOREVER.
