December Meme - Unique Thing I Am Fond Of and SPN meta rec
Another entry for The December meme.
From citrusjava: something unique you're fond of, that most people probably aren't. Or, if you don't have one, something you used to feel embarrassed about, or your favorite fandom fantasy
It took me a while to decide what I would write about for this, because I find that I'm not very good at writing about myself. My failed 5 year blog is proof of that, even when I made it anonymously so as to help me not be limited by my identity.
I think I've found something though, although it might not be all that unique? But I like the feeling of being lost*
One reason I love going to filming locations so much is that it gets me to visit parts of my city that I normally wouldn't go to. And sometimes I get lost, but it's also kind of awesome because then everything seems new. Or when I was on vacation in Kyoto and Paris, one of my favourite parts was to walk around with no agenda (when we had the time for it). Getting lost in little side streets makes me feel like I'm uncovering some secret. And the simple luxury of walking around with nowhere to be is so freeing. At times it can be a bit scary too, I'll admit. Like going on an adventure!
I like to people-watch too, which I know isn't very unique, but getting lost* is a great way to do it. I like the feeling of being anonymous in a crowd, watching others with no intent or purpose other than to just be there, in the moment. It kind of makes me feel like I'm a part of something bigger.

*as long as I have my phone and/or a map and knowledge of bus routes and taxi numbers LOL
