Moving into an apartment all by herself was a huge deecision for Lyla. However, she was only a day away from her adult birthday and she felt that it had been the right decision for her.

She was glad to have Ashton back in her life. She had always imagined they would stay together when they grew up and now it was happening.

Meanwhile, Lyla discovered that she was pregnant with Ashton's child so she invited her boyfriend over. Ashton took the news well however Lyla was disappointed that he didn't offer to marry her. She didn't want to raise a child all by herself.
Lyla finished her novel 'The Silent Caller'. It was a murder detective story and readers instantly fell in love with her principal character Detective Moore. Lyla ended up earning $3,049 in royalties.
She had finished the book just in time too!
Lyla gave birth to a baby girl she named Beverly North.
Bev's first birthday arrived in the blink of an eye and she grew up into a gorgeous little girl.
