A Monday for recovery

May 07, 2007 18:04

Today I am in recovery ... after four long weeks of noise, mayhem and disturbance ... it is all quiet on the eastern front ...finally.

Here are my new handrails!

I am very happy about them.

What is amazing is how I was able to keep up with so much while my home, my precious sanctuary, was in complete and utter chaos. No wonder my body went into total stress overload and started exhibiting the symptoms of diabetes. I am taking it seriously but I also know that it could have been far worse.

Last night I slept over 12 hours, and I tell you what ... I totally needed it. The pains in my body subsided enough that I could move my shoulder gently without wincing even before I took my meds this morning. Hopefully it will continue to get better with the physical therapy.

Tomorrow my physical therapy appointment is at 8:20 am in Rockville -- oh joy! So I will have to get to bed early tonight or take a nap tomorrow afternoon -- or both! Either way, I am finally getting some help with my shoulder.

Today so far has been focused on resting, recovering and reading up on diabetes. I planned my week a bit, but for right now ... ahhh!

Have a great evening ...

health, home
