(no subject)
phew, its so weird here. work opened up yesterday so we could come in and clean and get some hours. thats cool... i was about to go out and volunteer my time just to get out of the house. i guess im still part of the effort by checking these million-dollar condos for water damage... but they are NOT paying me enough to do what i had to do yesterday. one of the rooms we went into was the hottest, muggiest, fucking stinkiest place ive ever been. apparently these people were down here on some sort of hunting / fishing trip, and they stocked their freezer full of fresh-cut assorted meats before they left. by the time we got there, the power had been out for so long that all the meat went bad and it seriously smelled like a rotting corpse. we really though we were looking for a dead body... like some old man didnt make it to the evacuation. me and the other 2 girls with me had to take turns cleaning the fridge and then running out into the hall to gag and dry heave for 10 minutes. it was HELL. if i didnt already not eat me, i wouldnt definitely stay away for a while after that experience. if i was ever in any sort of denial about meat being dead flesh, well, now i know for sure. ugh, gross, and sad.
today should be better, though. a small group of us girls are going to camp out in the spa and do some deep cleaning and redecorating. im bringing chanpagne and strawberries; anndi said she'll bring pastries and juice. should be a good time.
